M///P begin a residency in the new SET building, on the 11th of March. (Unit 1, Lewisham Retail Park, Loampit Vale SE13 7RZ.)
Hosted by dancer and musician Bianca Scout, and facilitated by performer Sim Gray, in association with bimonthly Movement///Possession events. These classes focus on practical techniques, taking place on Monday nights, from 7.15PM.
These sessions aim to improve core strength and flexibility through consistent training methods, while emphasising creativity and personal artistry within traditional forms.
Please get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to book a place in advance, although you can also show up on the day. These classes provide a welcoming space for non binary and QTIPOC people. £5 recommended donation.
‘We started this project to deconstruct some of the ideas people may have about dance environments, as competitive, exclusive spaces. We welcome people of all ability levels, and believe everybody can benefit from dance training. As we now want this project to expand in ambition and scope, we have taken the opportunity to accommodate more people in a bigger space.
SET is a non profit space, so it functions as a co operative. This means we make all decisions as a group and it is essential that our events have a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Based in Lewisham, the new SET space will also provide affordable artists studios. Applications for 2019 are open now - visit http://www.setspace.uk/ for more information.'
